We will develop and motivate our human resources and maintain the greatest level of social and environmental responsibility Fair Trade AccreditationDue to our Fair Trade accreditation an opportunity presented itself for Sun Orange to provide a vehicle through which our seasonal employees could make a contribution to their community by working on the farm. The premiums earned through the sale of Fair Trade branded fruit are paid into the Sun Orange Farms Community Trust account and utilized for social upliftment in their community. The trust is registered as a non profit organization and provides a conduit for any donor monies through it to the benefit of its activities. Sun Orange Farms is a fruit producing entity mainly focused on the production of citrus fruits. Persimmons are the other fruit type grown. Of all the citrus producing areas in the world the Sundays River Valley is one of the most suited to growing the widest range of citrus fruit types. For this reason it was possible to include in our available cultivars a wide range which are harvested from March to the end of September.
